Overview of role
We are looking to expand our engineering team and are looking for seasoned engineers. You will play a key role in building out our modern payroll platform with a strong focus on the German market. In this role, you will work closely with our payroll specialist in Berlin and interface with both government and private consortiums (ITSG), including participation in German-speaking meetings. You will develop APIs for the German payroll product and have the opportunity to collaborate directly with customers post-sale to ensure successful integrations.
Core tasks
- Building out a modern payroll platform.
- Interfacing with German Gov and private consortium (ITSG). Work closely with payroll specialist in Berlin and be present at ITSG meetings (German-speaking environment).
- Develop APIs for the German payroll product.
- Opportunity to work closely with customers post-sale to ensure integration success.
- Potential to mentor and coach future engineers as the team grows.
Must have requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience with Python.
- Solid background in API development.
- Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms, ideally GCP.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, preferably Postgres.
- Proven track record in deploying large-scale products to production within complex codebases and larger teams.
- Commercial experience working with and deploying complex software solutions.
- Payroll domain knowledge (e.g. Personio, SDWorks) or broader HCM experience is a strong plus.
- Strong English skills combined with native-level fluency in German.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teammates in Germany and across global locations, with flexibility to work across time zones.
- Proven experience working successfully in remote, distributed teams.
Nice to have requirements
- Frontend experience with Vercel / Next.js.
- Familiarity with Pydantic or LangChain.
- Previous interaction with ITSG processes.
- Proficiency in multiple languages is a strong plus.
